Meet Missy Ham: A Driving Force Behind BC Solutions' Success

How long have you been with BC Solutions, and how did your journey begin?

I've been with BC Solutions for two and a half years, starting as a Consultant and now serving as the Director of Technical Consulting. My IT career began 20 years ago when I took on a role as an IT Assistant to get my foot in the door. Over the years, I honed my skills in SQL, developed custom reports using SSRS, built integrations with SSIS, and worked on data warehousing—all while collaborating closely with business partners to gain a deep understanding of commercial real estate. This solid foundation enables me to understand our clients' needs and work collaboratively with them to develop tailored solutions.

In your current role, what motivates you, and where do you find inspiration?

Efficiency and teamwork are at the core of everything I do. As the Director of Technical Consulting, I work closely with clients to develop custom reports, automations, and Yardi and Power BI functions, including YDC, covering everything from executive-level reporting to daily task management. I’m inspired by the dynamic nature of this role and by the passion our team brings to delivering excellence. What drives me most is the satisfaction of seeing our solutions in action, making a tangible impact on our clients’ day-to-day operations. I love hearing from clients about how our solutions have streamlined their processes and empowered them to be more proactive in their daily activities.

What are some of the biggest challenges and developments in your field right now?

I constantly embrace the challenge of staying adaptable in an ever-evolving landscape of technology and client needs. With continuous advancements, it’s crucial to stay ahead and ensure our solutions not only meet current demands but also anticipate future requirements. At BC Solutions, we tackle this by being proactive and consistently refining our skills to deliver top-tier results. We prioritize staying informed on new products and Yardi modules to fully support our clients. For example, in preparation for YDC, we proactively learned Power BI to be ready and able to assist our clients the moment they needed it.

For me, it's all about delivering tailored solutions that elevate our clients' operations. Yardi is an incredibly versatile platform, and at BC Solutions, we specialize in customizing it to align with each client’s unique business processes. This involves automating workflows, enhancing reporting, and ensuring every aspect of the platform integrates seamlessly with their overall strategy. No two clients are alike so we always invest time in understanding each clients’ business and identifying areas for improvement. This allows us to craft solutions that are specifically designed to meet their needs. We take great pride in helping our clients optimize efficiency across all facets of their business.

What’s a fun fact about you outside of work?

Outside of my professional role, I’m passionate about traveling, hiking, and photography. In the past four years, I’ve explored three different states and two countries with my family. These experiences inspire me to approach challenges with creativity and a fresh outlook. My love for photography allows me to see the world from new perspectives in unique designs or intricate macro details. When I’m not exploring new places, I enjoy finding trails to hike or local greenways to bike and unwind.
